Request for Proposals: Marquette Park, Indiana

RFP DEADLINE: MARCH 4

Chicago Sculpture International is seeking proposals from artists for a sculpture to be installed for two years in Marquette Park, Gary, Indiana, a municipal park surrounded by Indiana Dunes National Park.  The artist stipend is $3000.  

The sculpture must be large scale and suitable for outdoors.  It can be installed on grass or a concrete pad.  Installation is the end of April 2022.  The submission deadline is Friday, March 4, 2022.

Unseen: Collages, Paintings, Works on Paper, and Sculpture

For the month of February, CSI is hosting Unseen: Collages, Paintings, Works on Paper, and Sculpture, an exhibition of works by Frank ConnetGene SkalaDoug StapletonRebecca Wolfram, and Michelle Stone in Chicago Sculpture International’s exhibiting space, 3D4D by CSI at 1912 N. Damen Ave. 

February 2nd through 28th, 2022
Opening reception:
Friday, February 4, 2022 from 5 to 8pm

Gallery hours: Wednesday through Sundays 1 to 6 pm.

Welcome Vector Custom Fabricating, our new Corporate Partner!

Vector has worked with many of CSI’s members creating outstanding public art.

We are planning a field trip to visit their facility in April. Look for details in an upcoming newsletter.

Vector has miscellaneous metals that it scraps.  Members of CSI are welcome to inspect these materials and have them for free depending on the type of metal selected and the quantity.  Worst case scenario Vector might have to charge scrap value.

SI members Bobbi Meier and Yvette Kaiser Smith are in a two-person exhibit titled Rebellious Fibers at OS Projects in Racine, Wisconsin. The exhibit runs from February 12 through April 16, 2022.
