WELCOME TO THE SCULPTURE PARTNER NETWORK!

The PARTNER NETWORK provides artists the opportunity to exhibit sculpture in 5 different communities, on a university campus, and in a hospital indoor program. For example: an artist could exhibit 5 different sculptures in all 5 communities at the same time. Or a sculpture could be in Sioux Falls the 1st year, Mankato the 2nd, Castlegar the 3rd, the University program the 4th, Eau Claire the 5th, Mason City the 6th, get sold or leased along the way. All sculptures would compete for awards in each program. Our volunteers would move sculptures from show to show.

HOW THE PARTNER NETWORK WORKS:

You will have the choice of participating in one, two or all of the programs over time. New entries will be submitted each year for each program selections will be made and artists contacted. Sculptures previously in Sioux Falls can be entered in the network. Sculptures in the network have the opportunity to move from program to program with Sioux Falls being the Central program and Azs of the exchange hub.

A few examples:

Example - If you sculpture has been in Sioux Falls for 2019 and one of the other programs select it for their exhibit, they will come with a truck and pick up the sculpture, along with the other sculptures they select and take back to their exhibit.

If your sculpture is in the network for the second year, going into the third year:

Example - Catlegar has your sculpture this year and the sculpture has been selected by Mankato for their program this next year. Castlegar will trailer the sculpture (with others) to Sioux Falls for the exchange with all the other communities. Mankato will pick up your sculpture and transport (with others) back to mankato. Castlegar, Eau Claire and the University of Sioux Falls will all do the same. There will be no cost or labor for the lartist while in the exchange program.

When the sculpture is leaving the network: the artist can either pick it up or the holding partner program can ship it back.

This 50 sculpture program is on display throughout the community’s Cultural Crescent and has gained in popularity every year. Entries will be critiqued on artistic merit, creativity, public safety, and durability in an outdoors setting. All artists will be notified of the selection committee decision for Sioux Falls by October 31, 2019 and for Partner Network by December 15, 2019. The selection committee will consist of representatives from the communities.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

All programs are open to professional and amateur artists of all backgrounds. Artists may submit up to four (4) of their own original (in concept, composition, and execution) sculptures to SculptureWalk Sioux Falls, and 4 for the other Partner programs. The entry fee is $25.00 per sculpture for both Sioux Falls and the partner network. We welcome all sculptures and values; however those not willing to accept up to the communities purchase price for their sculpture will be excluded from the public voting for the People’s Choice Award. The programs will receive a 25% commission on any sculpture sold today or anytime in the future if the sculpture sale is due to its visibility in any of the Partner Programs. If a sculpture is special commissioned work then the commission to the participating program is 10%.

All partners will provide liability and Inland Marine (collision & comprehensive) insurance coverage on all sculptures.
