Setting Up Your Member Directory Page

About the Member Directory

The function of Member Directory pages is to serve strictly as an image bank and resource for prospective exhibitors, curators, collectors, and other professional inquiries. Its goal is to promote the range and diversity of original works created by our members and create opportunities for the work to be exhibited, leased, promoted, or sold. CSI  members are required to upload and an maintain a gallery of images as part of their membership agreement and we ask they abide by the following guidelines:

Creating and Updating your Profile Gallery:

When you first join CSI you will be asked to create a photo gallery (profile gallery) and profile photo (business card) of your work for the online Member Directory. At anytime members are welcome to login to their CSI account and update their images. As a member of CSI, we ask that you showcase your work in the most professional manner so we can share it with our networks.

Formatting your images:
1. Photos should be in .jpeg or .png format
2. 1-2 MB each
3. Profile page must be of work only
4. Profile photo (business card) should be a photo of your work only. No face shots, please.
4. Detail shots of your work are great
5. Show your work accurately
6. Choose work that best represents your work

Note: The order in which you upload your images is the order in which they’ll appear on your profile page. Once uploaded, they cannot be re-ordered. To change the order, you will need to delete the images and re-upload the images in the order you wish them to appear.

Additional Considerations:

If you need more detail into what goes into making your membership directory page amazing and open up the most opportunities for your work to be exhibited, leased, promoted or sold, please refer to the guidelines below:

• The photos should be not be blurry

• Profile photos need to be strictly of the member's work. They should not be personal photos, of the artist's face, or anything not that is not the work itself..

• Multiple images of a work showing different angles are encouraged and especially if they describe critical information not seen by a frontal view.

• All photos should be as accurate as possible of how the work appears in person and not altered or digitally enhanced. Dramatic lighting and unusual camera angles are discouraged. An exception would be if lighting or other environmental features are part of the work's construction and/or installation itself.

• We discourage the inclusion of artwork that has evidence of damage or general wear and tear that is either present or not in the image of the work.

• We encourage the member to select an image which is typical and best represents their overall body of work.

• Photos of a person(s) interacting with the work or photos from opening receptions, social events, etc. are discouraged

• Photos which do not abide by these guidelines may be asked to be removed and the artist replace the image. If a member fails to comply to such a request, CSI reserves the right to remove the image and/or replace it with an existing image the artist has already submitted.
