Second Life: All Women Exhibition explores work made by women with repurposed materials. The Chicago-based women artists exhibiting are Laurie LeBreton, Jill King, Bobbi Meier, Deirdre Colgan Jones. These four women sculptors all work primarily with repurposed materials, giving them a second life. Mining the waste stream these artists transform what is normally seen as ephemeral, temporary, valueless or disposable into works that transcend materiality, and ultimately challenge our cultural conditioning. When “climate change” has become “climate crisis”, our individual actions matter more than ever.
